Earlier this year I had the privilege of seeing Jim Webber's fantastic Guerilla SOA presentation, where he described his view of how to do SOA, and perhaps more importantly, how to not do SOA by putting a big ESB in the middle. There's now a new version of this talk available online, now also featuring Martin Fowler, that I really encourage everyone to watch.
