It may sound weird to you, but I really like reading eclipse new and noteworthy pages. Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede) is out and there is a lot to like!
New releases are are always a lot of fun, for the team who created the release and for the user's community.
To me a new version of my favorite IDE is like getting the latest and greatest of my favorite gadget. Once I'm done reading with the release notes I feel like I want to spent the entire night coding with my new toy. As noted earlier, this may sound weird, but I can't help it, some people like iPhones, I like my IDE.
It is hard to remember the IDEs we used to have just few years back. The healthy competition between the Ecipse and IntelliJ camps (or should I say relegiouns) provided us with excellent development experience. I regret our fellow developers from the .NET camp who still has to use VisualStudio. Coding now with VS is like going back in time
